I went into this movie thinking it would be overblown hype and just be average...I came out of the theater DEFINITELY satisfied with the movie. Best action movie I've see in a LONG time! Vaughn is right on about the lack of villain part though. I do disagree on the 2.5 * rating. There were some downright hilarious parts in this movie and also some awesome dramatic parts. The scene which Loki has everyone kneeling and one man stands up and says something moved me as well...

2.5 out or 4 is more critical than negative. The Avengers is what I expected it to be, nothing more.

I don't know who told Tim Burton to try and be like other directors, but it was the worst advice possible.

Story line sounds good. It seems a kinda kids movie as well as something innovative and inspiring, which we used to do during childhood, something new everyday and thinking of life as a game and want to be inside a video game or something. Fun ultimately, isn't it?

Gotta respectfully disagree with you, I saw it and loved it. It was the greatest pure comic book movie ever made, it had a few flaws but 200.3 Million opening weekend and 93% on Rotten Tomatoes, people tend to agree with me. Please do video review when possible.

Oh my God you really are a nit picky idiot who offers nothing but criticism of the smallest details. Here's a radicial thought Nick Fury is the director of a massive spy/military agency, he might have more then two agents under his command. It is clear you have no clue or love of cinema or movies or the source material and that you are the worst person to talk about movies on the internet. Calling you a critic would give you too much credit!

Jason Segel co-wrote the screenplay. I can't speak of his level of involvement, but that's how he's credited. I haven't seen all of Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but what I saw was ok.

I'm not getting very good vibes from The Avengers. It just seems that too many of the characters are biting off more than they can chew. I've never cared for Scarlett Johansson and can't imagine a favorable scenario for her character. Seeing her posing with a 9mm when the Incredible Hulk is near is laughable.

I honestly thought Lockout looked like a winner in early marketing. It turns out it's too much of a ripoff and there aren't enough "wow" moments of action to satisfy.

Still, I can't get behind the idea of excavating graves for entertainment revenue.
